Questions and answers
Is Preparemotivation Windows & Siding a window company?
No. Preparemotivation Windows & Siding is a referral service. Providers do the work. We take your request, match it to an independent local provider in our network, and pass along your details. The provider contacts you, looks at the house, and gives you a quote in writing. Preparemotivation Windows & Siding does not install windows or siding, and does not set prices.
How much does home window replacement cost?
Typical U.S. ranges run from about $300 to $1,500 per window installed. Size, frame material, glass type and the condition of the opening all move the number. Older homes can cost more when rot or odd sizes turn up. Prices vary by job, so get a written quote before work begins.
Do older houses need special care when windows are replaced?
Yes. Frames in older homes are often out of square, and rot can hide behind the trim. Homes built before 1978 may also have lead paint, so ask the provider how they handle dust and cleanup. A careful provider measures each opening, explains any surprises, and updates the quote in writing before extra work starts.
How long does window replacement take?
Most projects start with a measuring visit. Custom windows then need several weeks to be made. Installation usually takes a few hours per window, so a whole house often takes one to a few days. Weather and the age of your frames can change this. Request a callback to check provider availability.
What should I ask a provider before I hire them?
Ask about licensing and insurance in your state, and request proof. Ask who will be on site, what the quote covers, how they treat rot found during the job, and what warranty comes with the windows and labor. Get every answer in writing. Compare at least two quotes.
Can the providers handle window repairs?
Requests through Preparemotivation Windows & Siding are for window replacement, with a minimum of two windows. Single-window fixes and simple repairs are outside that scope. If you also need siding, mention it on the request form, and a provider can discuss siding installation alongside your windows.
Are energy efficient windows worth the price?
They can be, especially with cold winters and hot, humid summers. Double-pane glass and tight seals reduce drafts and help steady indoor temperatures. Savings vary by house, so ask each provider what rating the windows carry and what results to expect in a home like yours.
Will insurance pay for new windows or siding?
Some policies may cover sudden damage, such as hail or a storm-thrown branch. Normal aging and wear are usually not covered. Check your policy and ask your insurer before work starts. Providers can often help document damage for a claim with photos and a written description. The insurer makes the final decision.
